In the church, as in the world, we find the lust for power, position, greed, and control, resulting in emptiness.

Whether sensing a void in your soul through personal or family crisis, Pastor McCullough entreats the reader to enter into the presence of God. She uses Biblical examples of men and women ablaze with a desire for more of God to illustrate how we can seek God's counsel today in our personal trials and despair.

Jesus promises to replace the yoke of spiritual bondage, hidden anger, rage and the torment of unspoken pain with rest for the soul. Great book and insightful. No disappointments

As usual, Dr. McCullough is on point and bring out great revelations through the Word and gives parallel situations that we can relate to. One in particular was about lust and ice cream. Basically, you know its there--can't sleep, go to the refrigerator because you don't want the container to get freezer burn and before you know it, the entire container is gone and you are looking for more. The flesh just wants to please its self. It was an eye opener.

Dissappointing

Negotiating Rationally seemes promising but falls short. It provides food for thought on the interface between distributive and integrative bargaining and on biases that get in the way of a good solution. But as a framework for negotiation, Negotiating Rationally is inadequate. Getting to Yes is a far better structure and is easier to understand -- both for the novice and the experienced negotiator.

A Must Read for Anyone Involved in Negotiating

Absolutely excellent! Read it 3 times, highlighted important information on nearly every page. Now I refer back to it and study it prior to any important negotiations. In chapter 1 (on page 2!), Bazerman outlines negotiating strategy and seven methods for improving one's negotiating skills. The next 7 chapters systematically address each principle in clear and concise detail. It's a must read book. (It even has some very interesting facts about home buying or selling.)

I decided on this book because of the world renowned reputation of one of its authors (Douglas Zipes) who I was well aware of for the many years I've had interest in this field. This e-book is not for the beginner - but for one with at the least good foundations and strong interest in arrhythmias (who does NOT have to be an expert!) - up to the true expert level. This is a LOT of wisdom in this book - and scores of wonderful arrhythmia figures and colorful diagrams/tables. The text is informative (albeit not always easy to correlate to the figures) - but legends for each figure are excellent. My main constructive feedback regards finding what you are looking for. The Contents on the 1st page is merely chapter headings (rather than including subheadings) - and the Index is sooo long (18% of the the book!) - that although all topics are in the Index - it becomes time consuming to find a specific topic if you are looking for one (I somehow don't find any convenient Search in the menu of this e-book ... ). BOTTOM LINE: There is a WEALTH of wonderful information in this book for the novice-up-to-expert interpreter written by two ECG Gurus with an enticing variety of tracings - but it is at times a challenge to find what you are looking for ... If that could be remedied, this would become a book among the best.

This is for cardiology level reading and is written for physicians who have good knowledge of ECGs. Describes complex arrhythmias in simple terms. Huge collection of 12 lead ECGs to demonstrate every possible arrhythmia. Worth buying just for the ECG collection

My first search for a specific topic within this book revealed no fewer than a half-dozen errors in a single chapter (AV blocks), primarily in the captions. One caption referred to an ECG which wasn't even present....instead they had duplicated another ECG by mistake. This was obviously poorly edited and reviewed by the authors. There's lots of potential here and plenty of high-quality images, and I'm hoping that if there's a second edition, they scrutinize this edition and correct the numerous mistakes.

About the Author
Oliver Villar, born in Galicia (Spain) in 1987, has been drawing since he was a kid. His interest in art brought him into 3D, which he’s been studying since 2004. He used different commercial 3D software before stumbling onto Blender in 2008. Since then, he uses Blender professionally as a freelance 3D designer and tutor. In 2010 he funded blendtuts.com, a website in which he’s devoted to offer quality Blender training videos to the community. Currently, he’s working as the co-director of Luke’s Escape, a 3D animated short film made with Blender.

What Arnsperger essentially does is apply the Integral framework (of quadrants and levels) to the field of economics, thus filling in those many areas that traditional economics has left out of the picture. About the Author

Scott Meyer grew up in the small town of Sunnyside, Washington. He began his career in humor by working as a standup comedian and radio personality, a highlight of which was participating as the opening act in Weird Al Yankovic’s “Running with Scissors” tour. Following a long stint touring the United States and Canada, Scott settled down in Orlando, Florida, where he works on his ongoing comic strip, Basic Instructions. Spell or High Water is his second novel.

Good Follow-On to Off To Be The Wizard

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a nice diversion, although I didn't love it quite as much as the first. To be fair, the first book introduced us to an all-new universe, and the second one had to do a lot to avoid just being a follow-on. Scott Meyer came up with some interesting plot twists to throw into this one (Atlantis, the Brits), but at the end of the day, it didn't feel all-new so much as a slight rehash of Book 1. It almost felt like Meyer didn't have enough material for another book.

With that said, I enjoyed reading about the continued adventures of Martin, Phillip, and Gwen. I just hoped that there would be slightly more meat to them than the relatively straightforward assassin plot. I mean, what's the point in repeatedly trying to kill people who can't be killed?

The one thing that didn't really make sense to me was the side plot woven in through the whole story. I assumed that either it would integrate into the main plot or else the book would end on a cliffhanger, making way for a sequel, but instead the author wrapped up that plot quite neatly in just a few pages.

Overall, fans of the first book will probably enjoy this one, but I've definitely read better.

A solid follow up to Off to be the Wizard. Very comfortable and quite amusing, some of the gags / punch lines are telegraphed but (IMO) that goes with having your characters somewhat frozen in their maturity levels (geek mode). It should be noted that both the romantic situations and violence are softened and indirect (a PG-13 feel throughout) which I found "charming". While there are some humorously presented deep thought issues (Free will, the nature of knowledge etc.) they do not become a distraction. The two major plotlines are presented much more intelligently than (IMO) book one.

I really feel like this was a massive step back from the last book. Large portions of the book dragged on, and a lot of it was extremely repetitive. Unlike some other reviewers, I found the Jimmy side story to be the best part of the book. I don't want to get full detailed with this review so I won't go into a spoiler alert breaking down what parts I did and didn't like, but I really felt the ending of the Atlantis dilemma was pretty weak and predictable. The Jimmy portion was actually fascinating. I'd like to read more about his cross continental situation.

I will buy the next book in the series, though. The storyline is very original.

This book is amazing in what it achieves - a thorough, comprehensive view of expansive, global civilization and its affects on local, indigenous, autonomous peoples around the world. Bodley clearly and succinctly summaries the last two and a half centuries of colonial and imperial expansion, the people who resisted and continue to resist that expansion, and the negative consequences of being incorporated (usually by force) into large, impersonal, irresponsible nation-states. A must read for anyone who wishes to step outside our consumer-frenzied, totalitarian culture of domination and see what other worlds were and are possible.

Crisp, Clear, Insightful, and Vitally Important

This book is the most clear and insightful analysis of the global interactions between large industrial civilizations and small indigenous communities I've yet seen. There is no fuzzy logic or impotent liberal hand-wringing here, just solid information and analysis by a competent scholar in the field of Anthropology. Excellent overview of our global situation, very clear analysis of the processes of history, and fine perspective on contemporary issues.

I would consider this book a must read for any serious student of indigenous peoples, the history of frontier encounters or modern geopolitics as it relates to indigenous peoples. As a person who picked up degrees in History and International Studies before venturing into the field of Anthropology and encountering this book, I would say that Bodley cuts through the ideological orientation an imprecise analysis one tends to see in the writings of historians and political scientists on this subject, and gives the reader a solid understanding of one of the largest and most sweeping trends in history.

The set I received was a duo of sturdily-bound and attractive hardcover volumes with brown cover boards and red spines. There are no dust jackets. Since what I received looked nothing like the picture provided here, I thought you might like to have a description of the actual books.
