A Must Read!

READ THIS BOOK! I have read many books in this genre and this one is a stand out. If liked Hunger Games, Divergent,etc...You will love this book. The setting and rich and th characters stole my heart. Wilsons wiritng is fast paced and keeps you on your toes. Wilson is a new writer that I am really excited about (you should be to) and want to read more of her great work.

Absolutely enjoyable!

This is a dystopian YA at its best. The story gets you in from the first page and the pace is maintained right to the cliff hanger end. I have already organised my pre-order because I need to know more about Phoenix. She is gutsy, hard-nosed and yet has a beautiful softness at just the right place that connects with the reader. She may be young but her experiences keeping herself alive in this dismal and cruel world instils leadership and courage in her character and we want more of her and those she allows close to her.

Great world-building and some very likeable characters make this a very good read.

I noticed a lot of great reviews about the series

The first time I ever saw this Author was on Instagram. I noticed a lot of great reviews about the series, so I have decided to start reading it and let me tell you when I read the first series, I just fell in love with her books. What I enjoyed most of all was how the author wrote this entirely different world. She describes the characteristics of every tribe in the city of Tartarus. It's a ruthless and cruel city controlled by tribes in this dystopian world where death is close by at all times.
Let's talk about the book and its characters and who I enjoyed most.

Phoenix is a young girl who at the age of 11 saw her parents brutally murdered by a violent tribe. She is the main protagonist who fights to survive her enemies.
Astrid is a woman who controls a sanctuary for former tribal members who need help or finally got out. She is a strong women who is serious and never smiles and but is always smug.
Treven is a soldier under Astrid's care who is smart and very caring, he also seems to love Phoenix.
In this world where surviving is a must and the only education is violence, Phoenix finds how life can be and what it is all about. The autor's writing style is beautiful and sweet, it shows romance between the two main characters, however her writing always highlights the darkness of war.

I really enjoyed this series and I definitely would read the second book. I really recommend this series to lovers of science fiction and young adults.

I rate it 5 stars and would love to read more.

Most Definitive Book on Egos-State Technique

I have been dying for a more how-to, intervention book on working with parts and ego states ever since coming across IFS in 2012. I use ego state work frequently in my psychotherapy practice, but it's what I have gathered from several sources, including my AEDP training which has been integrating parts work into it recently. Also Emotion Focused Therapy, IFS literature and videos, and Coherence Therapy interventions. But I still felt that I was simply figuring this stuff out from fragments without something definitive to assist with the techniques and nuts and bolts of the work. Now I have a superb comprehensive piece of work that will take my parts work to a new level!

I highly recommend this work, as it is surprising the changes that can occur. Great for expanded empty chair work as well.

I am an EMDR therapist who loves this book! It's simple and you can start using these strategies right away! I've read other ego state books and I find most to be terribly time consuming and complicated. This book also captures trauma theory very well!

...Still the best after all these years!

I think this is the best book out there, and I probably have them all. What worked for me was to take the 4 Seasons with me when I went shopping. Eventually I was able to train my eye to know what Season I was looking at, regardless of the lighting in the stores. The day I went shopping, looking for a Winter turquoise top, showed me it's value. From the middle of the store, I looked at the women's department, and said, Ahh, they're all Autumn turquoises. Phooey. I never even left the main aisle . It was kind of a disappointment. There was no reason to even browse.
I also use this information for interiors. A relative was redoing her home and debating between gray and beige for the living room. She had been told that gray was "in", but she was hesitating. I asked her, do you look good in gray? She said, '"no". Well then, don't use it. You don't want to walk out to greet your guests in an outfit that looks good on you, and sit down in a room in another Season that fights with you and what you are wearing. They need to go together. You want to look good in your own home. (Granted, if you have family, it may not be that simple.)

Fun and Helpful Book

I read this book when it was new and all the rage, in the early '80s, and I really enjoyed it. Back then for whatever reason I never could figure out for sure what my season was, though. I thought of the book recently and looked to see if it was still available. I was so happy to see that it was being sold on Amazon. I ordered it and read it through almost nonstop! It's a fun and easy read. I don't have any doubt now that I'm an autumn! About 2/3 of my clothes are the wrong color. I have separated them out from the right colors and gotten rid of some. I am on a mission to replace the wrong with the right until I am completely "autumnized." I have clothes shopped once recently and I couldn't believe how easy it was! Once you know your colors you can eliminate what doesn't look best on you and hone in on the right colors. And even better than that, nearly everything you have will coordinate! When I look at the grouping of right colors in my closet, it looks so harmonious, and I truly look and feel better wearing my colors. I highly recommend this book! P.S. If you're worried about the book being dated, it's not. Knowing how to dress yourself properly never goes out of style!

Color can take the lines out of your face!

I think I first bought this book back in the 70's and then again in 2000 something (LOL) At first glance I was intrigued by authors scientific approach to using color to bring out ones natural coloring and beauty. The use of color to bring out our innate personality. Color using a set of colors that would work consistently in beatifying me thrilled me to no end. I had noticed that there were certain colors that seemed to always get me compliments. The fact that the compliments were given on two levels and that Color Me Beautiful book would help me identify the compliment that was solely because the color made me look lovely as opposed to someone just liking a color I happen to be wearing. Even if a color looks great in the department store, it is still a good idea to check the color in the sunlight if you can. Looking always for a color that reflects your face in a better light, does not turn you green or gray or bring out the lines in your face if you are a mature woman like myself.

Great book!

I absolutely loved this book for my entrepreneurship class. It doesn't go very in-depth, but it manages to touch on all the basic subjects very nicely. Perfect for an introductory level class, or just to get the basic concepts. It's fun and entertain ring to read, and includes several story-examples that continue the throughout the book. I would highly recommend this book!

This text has managed to do the impossible - succinctly summarize the vast and complicated field of GU oncology into a single volume readable precis. The chapters cover all aspects of the relevant malignancies complete with clinical manifestations of disease, current staging systems, pathology considerations and finally standard, novel, and experimental treatment protocols. It certainly is an important reference for those training in urology or those involved in the urologic oncology field.

A True Classic

The entire “I Bring Fire Series” is a true classic ending with Ragnarok. This book from the series pulls together all of the pieces of a great story merging the classic myths with urban fantasy. It is crafted in a way that keeps you reading and even going back to re-read the series.

The trinity has always been an important part of mythology and religion. It is found everywhere and changes with the times. New religions took trinities from paganism and changed it to fit their view. Ms. Grockel is doing exactly the same thing in this series and you find out exactly who the new trinity is in Ragnarok. Even though you think you know, what you don’t know is how they changed in the new worldview.

You will love in love with the characters of Bodhi and Amy especially. They are trying to find their way in the craziest situations. I love how they discover who they are and how they will continue in their new world. I enjoy the humor that is embedded in the story, especially from Bodhi. He has a rare gift of saying things that often makes you laugh or at the very least, smile.

Ragnarok answers the questions set out in the previous books and the answers are not what you thought or expected. You see how loyalty, friendship, love, truth, and family call come together. Even though this part does have a suitable ending, there is still a lot of stories that can be told. I would love to see Ms. Grockel come back to this and continue with Bodhi, Amy, Claire, Fenrir and others. There is a lot of fun adventures that they could go on.

Epic Ending for an Epic Series

This series has had highs and lows for me (really, I hesitate to use "lows" because emotional lows and sometimes necessary pacing changes aren't quality lows, just a difference in experiencing the story). This book, however, was high after high. The author really got to use all her colors to paint an expansive picture by letting us in on all the secrets. All the hints and teases, all the reveals are vastly satisfying.

This book is large as the team moves from location to location, but the pace never lagged. I personally enjoyed that the majority of the book didn't hop from group to group, but instead we benefited from different perspectives within the main group.

Gockel was saving up some SERIOUS feels for this final book and, boy, do they pack a punch. A really, very satisfying punch. Be prepared to say goodbye to some series staples, but for a book about the end of the world, the author handles the goodbyes well. Senseless deaths spurn on our team and heroic deaths do the same. Oodles of fuel leading up to some serious destruction at the end. While the book ends with our plot threads tied up neatly (well, as neatly as things can be using Chaos as a thread), Gockel offers a bonus epilogue for her mailing list slated to come out a month from Ragnarok's release!

To my mind, this was the best of the series as we get to see a lot of growth and revelations happen for our main characters (and even secondary characters). I have read this series 3 times now and will continue to keep it handy. This series deserves to have a favored place for those who love a good fiction story with epic flair and deep characterization...and an appreciation for the irreverent :) this is Chaos we're dealing with, after all.

Absolutely fantastic!

Truly an amazing journey. I've read this series from beginning to end, just finishing the sixth and final book, and I swear, I wanted to cry at the end, because I've become so invested in these characters and in their stories. Just beautifully written, hugely imaginative, and emotionally powerful. I think the part that did and continue to touch me the most were the flashback's to Loki and his relationships with his children, and the deep love he had for them. And perhaps the moment that most touched me in this final installment was Amy experiencing Loki's memory of running away after being taunted by the other children, and Odin coming to find him. Man, it nearly brought me to tears.

This series really has just felt so complete. The detail and the level of continuity and connection, running from the very first book, right up until the very end, blew my mind. That there were clues and hints and evidence of where this was heading from the very start is just astonishing to me, and shows such an incredible level of dedication and commitment on C. Gockel's part to these character's and this world. I've never really seen the character of Loki, and what he represent's, the importance of chaos and destruction in the balance of the universe, done greater justice. It was fascinating, and moving, and emotional and gripping, and everything in between. I absolutely adored it, and I would recommend this series to anyone who loves the character of Loki, and just the themes presented through the series in general, in a flash. My heartfelt gratitude and thanks to C. Gockel for sharing this epic tale, for having the intelligence and talent and creativity, as well as the dedication and care to write and finish such an astonishing piece of work. I can't even fathom accomplishing something so immense and extensive. I've enjoyed it hugely. And now I'm off to go read her "short stories" book she put out. Thank you Ms. Gockel! Thank you so much! And I hope that someday, you'll revisit Loki as a character, and take us all on some new adventures with him!
