Great Book to Learn the Rumba style Flamenco-

I enjoy this book very much because it has illustrations, photos, and CD/DVD. Its the only book of its kind to go step by step learning the techniques utilized on the songs. You will have a DVD with video recording to guide your hand positions and play each measure by measure. In the book, you will have diagrams of chords along with instructions showing you how to strum them up or down.

You can really learn alot from the instructions on the DVD/CD. But you need patience because these techniques do not happen overnight and demands a time period for development. Everyone is different and some people may need more time than others.

However, I feel the book has been written for an audience that can read and play from musical notations. The book also has guitar tabs for people who do not like to read from the musical notations. You will have musical notations, guitar tabs, and images of hand position on the chords. You will also discover the names on all of the chords.

This is a new edition, with a double-sided DVD (PAL/NTSC) sensibly replacing the previous Windows CD-ROM.

Since I don't have this edition, I can't review it; but presumably the actual contents are the same as those of the old edition, and you can find my (and others') reviews of that here.

Monocle Vienna's Whitewashed Take on History

A study in how to rewrite history, Monocle's Vienna includes a wide variety of essays on the city's history including some very major gaps. Marie-Sophie Schwarzer's laughable history of the city suggests Vienna attacked an "influx of people from different backgrounds" but notes the "tide turned during the Second World War." (Yup that's it on WW2, which is presented as a passing hiccup).Now though she affirms the city is a "magnet for immigrants from all corners of the world." What's missing? Just the fact that of Vienna's 200,000 Jews all but 2,000 were murdered in the Holocaust. Plus the fact that Vienna became a cosmopolitan cultural center largely thanks to those Jews (Freud to Mahler on down). You can try to write Jews out of history. But if you do you erase the driving force of Vienna's golden age, and the horror of its downfall.

I actually know David Berkowitz!

Knowing David does not sway my vote to be honest. I loved the book. it was like a open and honest devotional book. I enjoyed the read and would recommend this to anyone wanting to get some spiritual encouragement.

the Apostle Paul started life as Saul, a Christian torturer and killer. Then God grabbed hold and he became the greatest of those who spoke of the transformational power of God. Saul was so transformed, he adopted the name Paul to signify Saul was in the past, dead and gone.

Is David Berkowitz is similar path? Is the Son of Sam now in the past, replaced by the Son of Hope? Readers are going to be challenged with the thought, "Does God forgive a mass murderer? Can God forgive someone who caused so much pain in the lives of others?" If so, "Can God forgive me?" This book is going to trip up alot of people. Can God be that loving? I am worthy or comfortable being with such love? If I bring this love into my life, will I ever be the same? If not, who will I become?

This is a story about the deep personal transformation available to anyone at anytime, by just asking God to come in and take over.

Life Abounds!

David's writing is a ray of sunshine emanating from a place where very little gets in or out. David's love for his prison brothers and their families is shown throughout. Son of Hope will make you cry and fill you with sadness for lives which have been so damaged by sin! But, as David's life has been turned around by his acceptance of Jesus, he shows that the Love of Lord is there for everyone (Isaiah 1:18--"Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow"). David is a humble man who is living an extraordinary life (James 4:10--"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up"). Thank you David for a work so filled with the Love of the Lord.
